Glad you are enjoying the season and yes, early morning has a sweetness all its own. We have been getting snow in parts of the U.S. that normally does’t get it. And we got our first snow on Saturday. I had to go to my daughter’s, 45 minutes away to pet sit. She got chickens this spring and they are and decided to start laying the day after she left! When I was a child my father was in a service so we traveled a lot and I did live in rural areas also lived overseas and a place where people grew their own food, so I am no stranger to animals but you will probably find it funny that I thought that I killed one of them last night. It actually was the one who is laying the eggs; what happens is of course, when they put themselves to bed there’s always one that’s the last one. I waited for the last two and as I went to put the little sliding door down that chicken decided that she would poke her head back outside the door! the door does not have a string on it yet so it’s a little hard to handle and it was coming down very fast and I’m like oh no, what is happening! and I did see a bit of orange Under the edge of the door! and then I called my daughter and she said Mom I am sure that it is fine she said, did you hear any screaming? And I said no just soft clucking from the other side and when I opened the door a bit I could see them in a clutch. She said I am sure everything is okay. When I went up to feed them this morning I went prepared with a bag because I was scared that I had either killed her or hurt her very badly. my daughter thought this was funny! Anyway everything was fine. So that was my adventure and then one of the dogs was lost and there was company and later we found him locked in the garage and how that happened we don’t know, somebody must have opened the door and then closed it and didn’t see him go in. and then he stole a bag of jewelry, a small plastic bag with some sentimental jewelry that belong to my visitor! We found it outside he had chewed through the plastic but he is known for doing this, he steals things and then throws them around the yard by the pool. Nanook is a saint! But both the dogs here are sweet. Enjoy these days.??????❄?
