In the heart of winter

    Good morning Jonna,
It fills my heart with joy that you have shared your concerns for Maria. I came across her channel by chance, and I really love it. We are all kindred spirits those of us that prefer the light over darkness. If we care for one another, love one another speak life to one another we can change the world. Keep up the goodness. Let’s all pray for Maria and send her love and kindness. You are a gentle soul Jonna and I am proud of you ? We are all connected. Let’s change the world, make it better, lighter, kinder let’s overcome the darkness with love. Happy new year, God’s blessings to you and can’t wait to see what happens when we all unite in love. ?

Gnid in händerna när du lägger dig varje kväll…eller be Johan.

Jonna, I do not have any to send, but could a pair of gloves (lighter weight to go under your warm ones) without fingers help your skin? I think so! I wish we lived closer as I have enough wood to help you as well this winter….

Thank you so much for sharing your videos! The scenery reminds me so of what’s right outside my home: central Minnesota with wind chills of -40. My hands tend to do the same thing during he winter with the cold, dry air. What works best is to soak about 20g of oats in some water for about half an hour, then soak my hands in this liquid for ten minutes. It works to help soften the skin. Then, rub some olive oil into your skin and let it set at least half an hour before rinsing it off. I hope your wood supply stretches until the spring thaw! Mange takk igjen!

Dear Jonna. It’s so wonderful how an unknown person far away can make other people’s heart sing, especially mine. Your vlogs make me feel better and remind me not to give up and see how beautiful life and nature can be! When I watched your vlog 17, I started crying when I saw how you enjoyed the rising sun over the frozen lake – like a child and its first Christmas present. If I could have been there in that moment, I would have had the same reaction, and I would have wanted to dance with my love there too. But my love died the day after Christmas and we buried his ashes yesterday. – You can’t imagine how much you do for me! You make me happier. You live the life I always wanted to live – close to nature with a dog and a loving man, like a fairy in the woods and free. Never give up what you have and what you are now. Never give up being you – you are marvelous………. Big hug from Sanni, 59 years old (30 in my mind may-be),from Northern Germany

    After watching Maria’s video and reading her blog I could not help posting a comment for her but it may be interesting for you as well;

    Dear Maria,

Jonna talked about you in her video. I would definitely recommend exploring a spiritual aspect of your condition.

Few years ago I had this painful experience. A person with a cancer asked me to meet for coffee. He had surgery and was undergoing chemotherapy. I did not know him very well and did not really know what to say in this situation but saying no was not an option for me. I knew he did not want to feel alone. I kept meeting him for almost a year. He used to say that I was the only person he could relax with because I treated him like a normal guy and not a cancer patient like his family.

I wondered why this was happening to him. He was a very positive, friendly, ready to help others person. He had a happy, healthy family, nice house in a lovely area, good job. It started dawning on me that these positive circumstances kept him stuck. His illness was a call to look beyond them and my role was to point him to a spiritual dimension of reality. Severe existential suffering made me explore spirituality for many years in an attempt to relieve it. He had glimpses of what I tried
to convey to him but to the end he firmly believed that modern medicine was the only real solution.

I was surprised to find a vast body of literature describing how people survived conditions modern medicine considers undoubtedly terminal. One of the books that impressed me most was written by Anita Moorjani: ”Dying to be me – My journey from cancer, to near death, to true healing”. Doctors expected her to be dead the next day and she spontaneously recovered.

You have nothing to loose exploring this subject. Remember, this is not necessarily about being positive or a fighter. This is about realizing that the reality perceivable with our five senses, is only a small subsection of a vast spiritual reality. Sincerely ask for guidance. There is a tremendous amount of spiritual junk out there as well. If you do not like a word God, use the notion of Higher Power as you understand it, just like 12-steps groups world-wide do. May God bless you.

Please do not scare. This is just a bone-dry grass speaking to you, dear Floki. I don´t know much about spirituality and haven´t study it yet. I´m not even sure, if i understood you or if i would be able to recognize spirituality, if it appered directly in front of me. But i totally agree with that. There are many apathetic doctors, who think they can tell you when your life will end. And they are too busy even for that. But there is only one who tells you that you live forever. And it has time for you the whole life time: the believe. I experienced it two times in my own family.

I am afraid that you did not get the message if you find my comment scary. This is a message of empowerment and hope. But I am glad that you found someone who tells you that you live forever. This is what really matters. Everybody should find his/her own way.

OMG, and i´m afraid that i should work immediately on my bad english. I didn´t want to say „Please do not scare“ but „Please don´t be afraid“. I´m very sorry for that. Your comment isn´t scary at all but rather encouraging.

Faith, love and hope. Each of them is powerful. The challenge is to keep all of them alive, cause none of them can exist without the other ones. Maybe a lot at once but i try it each and every day. Sometimes it´s harder, sometimes easier.

20 years ago, a drama by Ödon von Horvath (hungarian writer) called „faith, love, hope“ / german: „Glaube, Liebe, Hoffnung“ (i don´t know if there´s an english version) leaded me to this opinion. Nowadays i look from time to time into the bible (f. e.: 1 Kor 13,1–13 EU). Indeed i´ve left the church a long time ago, but nevertheless the bible is a good book, ancient and a little bit „out“, but helpful very often. Who knows what i will read next.

But faith, love and hope cannot unfold their effects if they are just bound in books. They have to be filled with life. People like you do this. Thank you for this, Floki.

          Sorry for spamming you.

          /Hans

    Blue-gray forests, rime-white landscapes,
red-yellow sunsets and even lush-green summer impressions.
When the light flickers only sparsely,
it is not just bitter cold, in the heart of winter.

Frozen windows can not block the view outside.
Even huge armies of ice crystals can not
capture the prisoners we call thoughts.
Thoughts are free, thoughts do not freeze.
You do not see thoughts but you see their tracks in the snow yet,
You can not hear thoughts. You are just enchanted by their laughter.

Only the setting sun was witness, as two who overcame loneliness
danced together on the ice, then and now.
But the universe is shaken by a big bang again,
when two kindred souls do not have to search anymore,
but have found the way they want to go
and these paths are closely entwined to become a common one.

In the heart of winter, it is cozy warm
and the colours argue about who is the most colourful.
Only the sun knows what is right and what is wrong.
It is the wisest of them all and keeps on going its way.

Some are pressing their cold noses against the windows
to see curiously in the interior of the small house
of which the light seeks its way out into the darkness.
But they do not see through the frozen ice on the windows,
and do not feel the warmth of the fire, kindled in the stove by a kind hand
and accompanying quietly the incessant hum from the smithy.

People say the sun would burn in the distant future.
But the sun continues to go its way.
Because it knows otherwise it would be just cold and colourless
    in the heart of winter.

    Kära Jonna, kära Johan,

here are some advices from me to Jonna:

    1. First of all: listen to Johan. He has always the best advices ?
    2. Please do it more often. Speak more swedish in your vids (but it´s ok if you couldn´t do it due to the increased effort od subtitles etc.. So only if it doesn´t matter)
    3. Against bloody hands: It´s clear that this is a result of the lack of fluid. So you surely know all these tipps about smearing your hands with cremes and fluids. But it´s also important to drink enough. And if it isn´t avoidable to take off the gloves, you could do this: Cover the thinnest skin areas (ankles) with a tape. And important: you have to warm them up before you remove the tapes from your ankles. It helps me often, when we have to repair our motorcycles in the cold. But we have never had to do it under swedish conditions.? So i don´t know if it works at temperatures of – 30 °C.

So much love inside and around you both, that’s what touches me the most ❤
Oh and for your hands and the cold, I’m a french woman who live in Quebec (Canada) and I have sensitive skin and I like to use pure shea butter several times a day for rehydration (I put a good layer on my hands before the night sleep). And to fix my skin, I like to use aloe vera. So good luck with that ! 😉
Cheers from Quebec ! (and sorry for my broken or bad english ^^)
